Picnic ride – postponed due to weather forecast
22 August 2021 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Update 18/08/21 – Unfortunately the forecast isn’t for picnic weather so this is postponed and a normal club ride will take place instead
It’s a bumper weekend with not only Cotswold Cycles Open Day on Saturday (21st) but the NCCC – Picnic Ride on the Sunday (22nd).
We thought it would be fun to have a picnic ride instead of the normal club ride. The format will be a couple of routes one of about 60 miles and the other 40 miles with a refreshment stop after 45 and 25 miles respectively. The start will be Cotswold Cycles with the longer ride starting at 9.00 and the shorter ride at 10.00 – hopefully that way we can all meet at the picnic stop.
The picnic stop will be on the village green in Farmington which you may recognise from the pump house that sits in the middle. The club will provide a picnic which I’m sure will include some cake! There won’t be other facilities available but there are public loos in Northleach (as made famous in This Country) which is a couple of miles before Farmington on the longer route.
If anyone wants to have families join us at the picnic, they would be most welcome.
The longer route takes us a bit further afield than normal and into the beautiful Coln Valley

Those doing the 40-mile route will enjoy the lovely Windrush valley

Hopefully the weather holds but if the forecast is looking poor we will postpone and revert to a normal club ride.
